Writing Day

Writing capabilities are fundamental for communicating research ideas and scientific findings to an intended audience. Over the course of one day, doctoral candidates receive intense instruction to enhance their core writing skills. These imply the ability to identify one’s type of writing, to organize one’s thoughts by writing, to develop appropriate writing techniques, and to reflect on the writing process as well as style. Participants learn about various forms of writing skills and have the opportunity to put them into practice.

Objectives

·      Identify the types of writing – know who you are

·      Appreciate various writing strategies and techniques – be more productive

·      Improve your writing style – be clear and precise

Methodology

The online-workshop blends offline individual writing and online group activity. It combines self-study (videos, writing exercises) and open discussions via video-conferencing (GoToMeeting/Zoom). Additional material will be provided.
